Andrews Funeral Directors help sponsor the Rotary Golf Day

The team at Andrews Funeral Directors were approached by a chairman of Portsmouth North Rotary club asking if they would like to take part in their annual golf day at Rowlands castle. The Rotary club asked whether Andrews would mind sponsoring a hole at the event for the whole day. There was also a raffle and competitions for a ‘hole in one’ the top prize being a VW car.

There was also the opportunity to attend a 3 course meal at the end of the day to unwind where again all proceeds were donated to The Portsmouth Association for the blind for the purchase of a new mini bus.

Andrews Funeral Directors in Portsmouth would like to thank the Portsmouth Rotary Club for inviting them to sponsor the Golf Day 2011.

Andrews invite clients to attend their Christmas tree blessing service

On Saturday 11th December, G Andrews & Son Funeral Directors of North End, Portsmouth invited clients into their funeral homes to attend their Christmas tree blessing service.  The service was being held in memory of those who had lost someone throughout the past year.

The blessing was led by Reverend Tom Kennar of St. Marks Church, Derby Road, Portsmouth.  Clients who attended the service were invited to place personal messages and memory cards onto the tree.

Reverend Kennar commented “I was delighted to be invited by G Andrews and Son to bless their Christmas tree.  I am certain that the simple act of placing the names of loved ones onto their Christmas tree will help give bereaved families comfort this Christmas.”

Manager Ken Newman commented  “I was delighted to see so many of our families attend our Christmas tree blessing and place their memorial card onto our tree.  It is a privilege to be able to offer this service at this special time of year”.
